Either by screen print or embroidery, here are some basic specifications to follow;
Screen Printing:
Screen Printing is the process in which ink is applied directly to a surface to be printed. It's really important to remember, the better the artwork that is supplied, the better the quality or reproduction will be. The ideal image resolution should be around 300dpi. The software we use is either Illustrator CS5.5 (ai) or Photoshop. And the file formats we use are; Illustrator CS5.5 (.ai) Generic EPS TIFF GIFF JPEG BMP |
At Accent on Accessories we use Screen Concepts for all our screen printing requirements.
Embroidery:
Embroidery is the handicraft of decorating fabric or other materials with needle and thread. Today, embroidery is most seen on caps, hats, jackets, dress shirts, denim, stockings, and golf shirts. Embroidery is available in a wide variety of thread or yarn colours. To help match the thread and ink process, the file formats we use for embroidery are; Illustrator CS3 (.ai) Generic EPS TIFF GIFF JPEG BMP At Accent on Accessories we use Southern Monograms for all our embroidery requirements. |
Low Resolution v High Resolution:
Even although some TIFF, GIFF, JPEG and BMP files may look nice on a computer screen, some times they are not suitable for reproducing a high quality screen print or embroidery. When at all possible, please provide the original file. A small file from a website is rarely good enough to use, as when these images are enlarged they "pixilate" and the results are images that we are not happy to supply. Please note - if artwork needs to be created or re-created, an art cost may apply. |
Pantone/PMS Colours:
Pantone and PMS colours are internationally recognised and used for most print or embroidery colour mixing. If you are unsure what the colours are in your logo, ask the company that prints your signage or business cards, or the graphic designer who first created your logo. They may also have your logo in the original file format that will help greatly. This easy to follow colour chart might help you to identify the correct colour you are after - CLICK HERE to view. |
Text and Fonts:
It is important to know that if a person does not have the same font installed on their computer as you, if your font is unique it will default to a basic version when viewed on their computer. If "word' is your only option please tell us what font you wish to use and we will try and match it. |
